Pack of Dogs to put away your stuff for you
Asmita | May 2 2008

An innovative bunch of Mexican designers have finally managed to do things I could never ever get my dog to do- carry a paper in its mouth without shredding it to pieces and helping me carry those god-awful heavy volumes of dictionaries when I’m cleaning up my mini-library. Cleverly named after famous Mexican wrestlers like Dos caras Jr, Aguayo, Superastro, El Santo, Alushe and Místico, the “Pack of dogs 2″ is a series of multifunctional pieces that are shaped roughly like the figure of a dog.

Created by the design team of Ricardo Casas, Héctor Esrawe, Emiliano Godoy, Cecilia León de la Barra, and Óscar Núñez, the sculptures are suggestive of a dog in various sizes and positions and can be put to a variety of uses like a funky side table, garden stool, porch bench, bookshelf, magazine rack and even as a newspaper holder if you like. The wonderful accent piece was created by using some of the most traditional woodworking techniques and integrates scraps of solid wood like tzalam, ash, red oak, poplar, alder, walnut, and pine into a single, solid whole completed with a very modern high gloss finish.

I do agree with you when you say that you cannot make your pet dog do what the Pack of Dogs can do. I think the unconditional obedience of the Pack of Dogs will make them a favorite with furniture enthusiasts soon.

nice! I love the mere sight of it too :)
