The Fresh Flower with a fresh design
Gabriel A | Jun 16 2008

The Fresh Flower pavilion will be featured at the London Festival of Architecture as a venue for discussions. Its arching cascading petals shade a rotating stage that pivots around the base of the Flower. The Fresh Flower is comprised of eleven petals that radiate spirally from a central stalk, and are anchored to the ground. The stalk and the frames of the petals are made of steel, while the area of the petals are covered with fabric. Designed by Tonkin Liu, this is no ordinary canopy; it is meant to be a central aspect of the Architecture Festival, and it will certainly be impressive to the architects and spectators at the festival.
