Spider Stool: Portable seating with foldable legs
Naresh Chauhan | Apr 23 2009

A wooden log or a rock is an ideal seat around a campfire. However, if you have to host one of those elite guests at a bonfire in a secluded place, you might like to have a look at the folding stool by designer Ionut Predescu. Dubbed the “Spider Stool,” the portable furniture by the Romanian designer features a prism that bounds the stool together, while the folding legs, finished with cast 7075 dark grey-coated aluminum, are based on a truss triangles reinforcement structure to reduce weight and material of the stool. A cam lock forcing the flat heads (of the legs) to press one against the other holds the stool in a stable position. The Spider Stool weighs 800 grams and folds into a compact measurement (75×75x350mm) for easy transportation.
