Snakes or Pizza, fashion this light as per your whim
Radhika | Aug 25 2008

Restricting, conforming or predictable, these are three diktats that don’t bind a creative mind. No wonder designer Ron Arad was able to fashion a lamp that could be conceived as either a snake, a coil, an umbrella or as a pizza! Using OSRAM Opto Semiconductors and six high-power Golden DRAGON LEDs and lenses, this lamp is as fluid as one’s imagination can get. The PizzaKobra is a metallic representation of versatility and resourcefulness. Adept at coiling up at an instant, the design sees the clever use of compact light emitting diodes to the maximum advantage. Besides the white tone, the Golden DRAGON LEDs can offer varied hues to make the illuminations as colorful as you want.

Rich colors like red, green, blue or yellow can be formed by adding different colored lenses. Consuming only 1 watt of power, each of the LEDs attain luminance of up to 100 cd/W. Charming the pants off a snake charmer, the PizzaKobra sure looks ready to levitate with the imaginative fakir!

Excellent art! It also looks like a sort of fire work that we use in Deepawali, except resempbling to the snake, pizza, coil or umbrella. But most of all, it seems like being inspired from the black snake- sleeping and awaking to attack! I thank designer Ron Arad for this unimaginable sculpture.

Yes Sasmita the design is unique, you know for a moment it also reminded me of the tortoise mosquito coil that we used to use zillions of years ago ! LOL!!!
