We have seen some of the sleekest and highly portable PCs in the past, but the new rugged J3400 Tablet PC by Motion Computing is a system with different features that promises to make fieldwork easier than ever before. Featuring surplus accessories, including a magnetically-attachable mobile keyboard that converts the PC into a laptop and a FlexDock that allows use it as a desktop machine, the rugged PC comes with a 12.1″ display with a digitizer, apart from an extra rubber coating and shock dampening that makes it more durable. The rugged system also boasts 15 hours battery life, on a single charge, which is good enough for extensive outdoor excursions. Moreover, the rugged PC includes an extra HD for backup, while its dual battery can be swapped without disconnecting the PC. You can’t ask for more than that.
