Created by design studio Platform, the Polyline modular furniture design system originated from digitally sculpted objects and designs that could potentially be used to create pieces that can be fitted in any space and situation. The concept basically aims at creating, describing and understanding forms and surfaces in order to manipulate them better in future designs. The brainchild of Platform designers Jan Wertel and Gernot Oberfell, the design systems offers limitless possibilities in the field of furniture design, sculpture and art making it a true multi-disciplinary tool that may be expanded to suit many other streams of art as well.
