Lesto plywood sled for adrenal-gushing green speeds
Naresh Chauhan | Oct 22 2009

Sledding may add thrill to winter sports, but controlling bulky sleds often becomes difficult for the rider. Adding safety to the adventure of winter sports, designer Sebastian Götte has come up with a plywood sled that not just allows safety, with lightweight and easy controls, but also adds sustainability to the exciting sport. The “Lesto,” as the designer calls the sled, is made of two molded plywood parts designed to allow good shock absorption without the need of mechanical springs. The sled moves smoothly on both icy and soft surfaces, thanks to the broad and tilted skids. Riders can control the sled with their body weight, while hand brakes (two) allow complete control over speed, ensuring optimum safety on the slopes.
