The design of the Plank is certainly very witty, and the process of engineering it must have taken quite some input too. It starts out in the shape of a straight plank, but thanks to its four sturdy angled joints, it can morph into a coffee table, or a stool. The engineering of the Plank required calculating the angle of the joints so that its folds perfectly in spiral manner. This is a nice piece of folding furniture from Heatherwick Studio, and it will have the benefit of being very easy to move and store away.
