Greenopolis: Romanian Pavilion sets for the ‘Exchange of Ideas’
Naresh Chauhan | Dec 2 2009

Developed by SC M&C Strategy Development, the “Greenopolis” or “The green mega polis” is the Romanian entry for Shanghai World Expo 2010. Taking its design from an apple sliced into two pieces, the basic structure of the pavilion (i.e. an apple) ideally reflects the theme of “Exchange of Ideas,” health, knowledge and attraction. Covering about 2,000 square meter area, the $3.5 million pavilion accommodates a restaurant, terrace, conference room, offices and music and cultural performance areas in and around the five story structure. Based on the sole principal of the freshness of nature, the Romania Pavilion instinctively takes the visitors into an ecological though advanced zone and prompts them to adapt a healthy lifestyle.
