The most common binding factor in any community is music that it believes in. The power and energy resonates throughout the fabric of the congregation. With modernization we have seen the musical implements shrink in size. From robust gramophones to the card-sized flash players, progressions indicate downsizing. Industrial designer Renze J. Rispens has a different take on this progression. His Ghettoblaster Monk is a multifunctional system, designed specifically for monks who spread the word of god using music as a medium. The specially designed form factor doubles up as comfortable seating for tired soles (or souls perhaps). Community service trough the medium that knows no bounds is quite a devout expression on Renze’s part.
