I first read about Tatami mats in the book Memoirs of a Geisha. Then I saw them in the movie inspired by the book and a couple of Akira Kurosawa’s movies. But this product is something which actually held me for long. This special kind of Tatami cutting board is something which goes beyond its name. It also poses as a draining system after you wash your vegetables. Just lay the board straight and cut your vegetables. Once you are through, fold it as shown in the figure and you can very well wash and drain the vegetables. This one is really an innovative piece of kitchen board. The Japanese are really masters when it comes to innovation and invention.
