NMA architects teaming up with Maritime Management has come up with a unique structure dubbed “Floating Hotel” that floating on the waves rises and falls with the tides. Constructed on the river Liffey, the center of the Dublin docklands financial area, the hotel featuring a strong identity is gonna be a landmark destination for visitors from all across the world. Featuring a facade finished in folding corten (shipping containers), the 110 bedroom hotel integrates an origami deck (corten folding) that creates continuous external floating landscape and utilizes the 360-degree panoramic views of the docklands area. Constructed like a boat, the floating hotel include services, kitchens, reception, gym and event and business center underneath the deck. The main deck also houses the bar and restaurant in two different glass elements, which gives a mesmerizing view to the occupants.
