DIVIDE Coffee Table with hidden drawer
Anwesha | May 10 2008

Another of those innumerable attempts to save space! The Divide coffee table from designer Grant Wyllychuk serves as a drawer besides being a coffee table. And how does it do that? Well, it divides! The hydraulically dampened slides which make up the top of the table can be slid apart to reveal a convenient, handy drawer beneath. So the next time a surprise visitor turns up and you are left perplexed with a handful of newspapers and magazines and socks lying around, you know where to stash them. And the unsuspecting visitor can even have his coffee right on top of all that junk! Got a kid in the house who is forever rummaging your iPod and the remote controls? This coffee table’s hidden drawer comes to the rescue of your precious belongings again.

The size is that of a standard coffee table, 20×40x14 inches. The table is available in eco-friendly Douglas Fir, White Oak and Alder. However, depending on your preference, you can give specific orders regarding size, type of wood and finish. It all sounds fine, but I can’t help wishing that the table was a little more ornate.
