Continuity characterizes ‘Drive’ by Phillip Grass
Gagandeep | Feb 29 2008

Young designer Phillip Grass says that he tries to combine ‘artistic vision with practical craft skills’ in all his designs. His designs are characterized by seamless flowing forms. This is evident perhaps in designs like ‘Underwater’ and ‘Flying Chair,’ but ‘Drive’ pushes the seamless bit to a whole new level. The digital prototype of this chair awes the viewers. The entire thing seems to have been carved out of a continuous plastic bloc, brilliantly shaped and formed. Drive is small and manageable. It gives the impression of a nice and comfortable sitting and is a wonderful example of the vision of this young and talented designer from Denmark.
