Furniture undoubtedly is an essential decorative commodity of all apartments, while on the downside it also occupies most of the space available in contemporary homes and offices. This is what prompts designer Pedro Gomes to come up with some real utility furniture unit that apart from being durable and functional can be collapsed to lie in a corner or in storage, when not in use. Called “Compact,” the modular furniture unit comes in five flat boards, for easy transport, which ties together by interlocking areas sealed with wood glue. Finished with cardboard and recycled polypropylene, the Compact furniture unit isn’t just durable and light in weight but also supports the eco drive going across the world.
