Chong-sa-cho-rong lantern, combining traditional with modern
Naresh Chauhan | Oct 26 2009

Reliving the traditional Korean gesture of welcoming guests after sunset, designer Cho hyung suk has come up with an innovative lantern that can easily be transported to perform various outdoor social activities. Called “Chong-sa-cho-rong,” the modern version of a typical Korean lantern combines four lamps surrounded by a wooden structure keeping them intact. The lamp is hooked to a chain at the top, which is attached to a hand grip from the other end, so you may move it effortlessly wherever you go. The Korean designer has smartly transformed a classical object into a modern device to meet the needs of contemporary consumers.
