Carpet samples upcycled into gorgeous and functional Carpet Sqr’d Chair
Asmita | Jul 11 2008

One of the finalists at the 2008 Ample Sample competition, the Carpet Sqr’d Chair is an astonishing tribute to recycling and the green movement. Since the competition asks designers to upcycle used carpet samples into structures that can be effectively put to use again, this chair ensures that the environmental cost of producing carpet samples isn’t a pure waste.

The chair itself uses 60 carpet tiles, one sheet of wheat board, 7 threaded rods, and 14 washer and nuts to create a strong sturdy and functional structure that can also be made a part of daily lives. And the best part is that the awesome chair can also be made at home following easy DIY instructions that can be found here.
