Asthma inhaler connects patient and doctor wirelessly
Naresh Chauhan | May 7 2009

Infusing life to its “connected patient” concept, Cambridge Consultants has come up with an economical alternative to the GPS-enabled inhaler that will keep patients in touch with health care experts. Featuring a wireless platform, called Vena, the medical gadget with infrared-based IEEE11073 and the Bluetooth Medical Device Profile delivers data to a home-based central monitor, apart from transferring it to an online health record like Google Health or Microsoft Health Vault. Connecting the patients with the health care support wirelessly, the asthma inhaler not just helps in fast data transfer, but it ensures the security of the transmitted data as well.
