Motivated by the command module of the Saturn V, rocket used to take humans to outer space, the “Apollo” by British designer Timur Pinar is a sound dock that is compatible with Apple gadgets, including the iPhone, iPod touch and iPod. An entry to the sound innovation competition ‘08, the sound dock comes incorporated with three speakers (two normal speakers plus one subwoofer) for a bursting sonic immersion. The dock features a power button at the top that which when pressed emits a gentle blue light. Disguised to give a cleaner look when not in use, the sound dock locates the remote control at the right side, which can be released from its housing with a gentle push.
