A text-o-holic must-have: “Ultimate Chat Machine” Concept Phone

Not so long ago when I was a giggly teen with raging hormones, a vocabulary full of OMGs and ‘so totallys’, an umpteen number of crushes per week and a need to be in touch with my friends 24/7, texting was my religion. Though I never really counted the number of words, I could type per minute on my humble Sony Ericsson T610. I’m sure I must have close to a world record or two in the department. And oh how I would have loved to have this “Ultimate Chat Machine” concept cellphone aiding my quest to have texting recognized as an Olympic sport! Designed by Jin Woo Han for PPWK group & red-lab, the UCM comes in all kinda sizes and shapes with a handily positioned sleek sliding QWERTY keyboard and touchscreens helping chatters emote and express every sentiment via a rigorous thumb movement. The best thing about this concept is that the makers were mindful of how treacherous the smooth surfaces of “normal” phones can be which is why they had their gizmo covered with a clever rubber coating to secure it in an avid chatter’s grip keeping in firmly in place in your hand even if you are taking off into space in an open-top craft!
